If you were watching this right now, I expect that John Ensor and I are traveling through China even as you watch this recording. We have been really excited about getting back into China. As I said last week, it’s been four years since we’ve been able to travel to China because of the pandemic. I think, if I remember correctly, John was in China just days before China closed down because Covid was beginning to break out there in 2019. If he had been two weeks later on his trip, he might have gotten caught in China. Before that, we had been traveling to China quite regularly. It is one of the places that we consider a high priority in our group.

We have some wonderful, wonderful leaders that we work with in China. Again, John has been to China more than I have. I lived in China for 10 years, which means that I went over there and stayed. This particular trip is John’s 30th trip to China. He has flown into China 30 times. I have not flown into China nearly as many times as John has. He’s worked over there for weeks and weeks at a time on many of these trips. John traveled all over the country from place to place, city to city, working with various leaders, and it’s really exciting for us to be able to be back over there right now.

We cannot be too specific with where we’ll be, what we’ll be doing, who we’ll be working with due to safety concerns. What you need to know is that we are happy to be there. We are happy to have these leaders that we’ve been working with for so many years and to be introduced to new leaders by them all the time. Part of our priority for this trip is just to reconnect with some of these leaders and to rebuild on the foundation of our friendships and our relationships with some of these pastoral leaders and to see if we can help challenge them to think through creative solutions to the roadblocks that they are currently facing. They’re always facing certain roadblocks in pro-life work in China. There’s always going to be certain pushback in certain places. We are going to be traveling to some of those places and we’re going to need your prayers as we go. Continue to follow us and continue to pray for us as you get updates from us on this trip.
